The University of Bologna has been hospitable students since 1088 – it’s the oldest university within the world and its foundation gave the town one in all its nicknames: la data, “the learned one”. Bologna remains at the forefront of educational innovation within the twenty-first century. The Bologna method was initiated within the town and has established a collection of standards for excellence in pedagogy across the ecu pedagogy space (EHEA).
